My parents (who were too eager to wait for me to network our machines so they could use my trusty Hewlett-Packard printer) bought a cheap Xerox DocuPrint C6, which works fine when it prints. Unfortunately, nine out of 10 times it only prints the first few pages of a document and won't budge after that; it'll print a few lines on the last page and then just sit there doing nothing. It makes this annoying high pitch sound that my printer also makes when it has printed something and is waiting for the PC to send it the rest of the data, but at least the HP continues printing after a few seconds, whereas the Xerox refuses to do a thing. Sending another document to the printer doesn't work, and only until I reboot the machine again it'll eject the paper that's stuck in the machine at the time. The only way we can get it to spit out the paperwork is by turning off the power or rebooting the machine.
Now I think it's to do with Windows XP, because I've heard a lot of complaints from people about their printers and scanners after they upgraded to XP. (Unfortunately that's what both our machines are running, so I can't test it under a different OS.) But I downloaded the drivers from the Xerox website that were developed for use with Windows XP, so I would assume they have been tested...?
If anybody has any ideas what might be the cause of the problem, or has any suggestions that may help fix it, please leave a message?

By the way, it's hooked up to the LPT1 port... not sure if it matters, but just for the sake of clarity I thought you'd like to know.
