Hello,
I have this Gateway Modem. The only time a second computer in another room has an active Lan Connector LED with this Modem is when that Desktop computer is on. Is there a setting I can implement in the Xfinity modem that will allow the Lan Connector LED to remain active when the computer is shutdown?

LOL you are right.

Unless this is the (what become) Main stream practice in forums to post - Guess what my real system/network is????

My (uneducated guess) is that there is a computer on the Modem in the first room and when it is Off the LED of the port of the computer in the second room is Not On in the Modem Switch even if this computer is On.

One computer is connected to the Xfinity Gateway Router/Modem. Second computer, in another room, is connected to the Xfinity Gateway Router/Modem by hardwired Cat6 cable. FWIW, Xfinity Gateway Router/Modem has four lan connections.
Purpose is to figure out how to liven up land connector in another room for WOL purposes.

Give the computer to waked a static IP (or reserve its IP in the Router).

Then, use an App like this on the computer that would act as a Wake Up instigator.

Make sure that the computer to be wake capable and configured to be able to wake.

Most Desktops can, many Laptops can not.
