Update: Last weekend the price was $525 (plus shipping), then it dropped to $499, then to $488, went up to $495, and now it's $490. I expect it to go up since this is as cheap as the cheapest regular (non overclocked) 7800GTX, yet it gives 10-15% more performance, doesn't require overclocking and is fully warranted for life at this speed.

No, the card you linked is the regular XFX 7800GTX (450/1250), not the Overclocked version (490/1300). The Overclocked version costs $499 at ZZF and Newegg:

Decent Deal ?!?!?!? I think it's a GREAT deal because even regular 7800GTX are at least $489. So this extreme overclocked version, which other manufacturers like EVGA sell for $100 more then the regualr card, costs the same as a regular 7800GTX. That is the deal here - you get an extreme factory overclock for the same price as the CHEAPEST non-overclocked cards.

perofmance, warrenty, etc.
from what I read last time in a review from AT was, they would choose eVGA over any due to thier warrenty cause BFG had the same as eVGA but 3years only though. I believe....

AT incorrectly states that EVGA warranty covers damage from manual overclocking, which is not true. Other than that, XFX lifetime warranty is transferrable to the person you sell the card to. EVGA also has a custom cooler, but it only reduces the heat by 1C degree compared to XFX. EVGA KO costs $600.

The evga KO runs cooler, quieter, faster, and has a lifetime warranty which covers overclocking, while the XFX does not.

I'm going for the KO once the price comes down just a bit.

The differences are minimal, but the warranty is what won me over.

Cause for all I know, 16 months down the road, im dumping it for the next tier if its shown worthy to upgrade again.

eVGA also has a "Step-Up" Program. Where within 90 days you can exchange your graphics card for a better one. You ONLY owe the difference in the price + shipping. It's a killer deal.

And the price they use for your used video card is the price you originally bought it at, not the current price.

I am satisfied with the double lifetime warranty, and not planning to overclock beyond the factory overclock which is already proven to be as close to the absolute max as you could possibly wish. And the EVGA runs cooler by 1C degree undel load, that's all. Also there is no difference in noise, they are both very quiet. The EVGA KO costs $100 more.

I Purchased this card last week. I looked at the benchmarks and it seemed like the best bang for the buck on the hign end. As a side note the packaging is annoying at best.

A friend won a mobo at PDXlan (800 man lan in Portland)and gave it to me, so I built a computer around it, now I have to find a use for this box. The case itself is being custom re-cut/finished at work so it will have great airflow.
