I spoke way too soon. It's still at step 4 (packaging) and there is no sign it will ship tonight. What's up with that, The Egg?

That was my concern, whether or not I would get the invoice with a date prior to 11/30/05. I would say that to be on the safe side that tonight will be the last night to order this if you want the invoice to show either 11/29 or 11/30

No. Why is everyone sweating this?

You have until 11:59 PM tomorrow night (11/30/2005) to place the order. Well... I wouldn't wait to the very last minute. But I've ordered from Newegg, ZZF, and Monarch (I do a lot of ordering for clients) late at night or early in the AM, well outside their business hours, and the invoice has always shown exactly the time I clicked the submit button.

Thats good to know. I have never ordered from them before so I wasn't sure how they worked their invoices.

According to U.P.S., my card is already in Jamaica, New York. That's about half an hour away from my house by car so it looks like I'm on track for an early delivery. In other words, two day shipping, not three. This wouldn't be the first time that New Egg was early.

In fairness, I've also bought lots of stuff from ZZF and they've never failed me either. They even took back my first ASUS 6800GT video card at no charge because it wasn't the special blue LED card; something they didn't have to do since all the photos on their site clearly say "image shown is for display purposes only."

In any event, it looks like I'll be running F.E.A.R. with all details maxed by tomorrow night. Thanks to XFX for making such a steal of a card and thanks to Scott78945 for pointing out this awesome deal.

Mine shipped as of last night a bit later than I expected but shipped nonetheless.
How many of you who are buying this card will intend to overclock it? My understanding is when you do (o/c) the card warranty automatically voids or does it not?
What is the lastest greatest driver good for this card?

I ordered mine using 2 day UPS delivery from NewEgg yesterday @ 11am my time (8am pacific where NewEgg is located) without paying the extra $2.99 for "rush service". I called and they said it would ship same day. I was stuck on step 3 all day then step 4 last night but around 11:30pm my time my order shipped. Mine should be here on Thursday.

Again, great deal and find OP.

I intend to overclock it and you will theoretically void your warranty by doing so, but the risk of damage is small and frankly I've never heard of any video card manufacturer actually refusing to repair a card during the warranty period because it was overclocked. I've been running mine with blistering overclock for a month and I've never had a problem beyond some games locking up at very high clocks.

Anyway, the XFX GeForce 7800 GT is overclocked out of the box so if the warranty issue really concerns you the card can be left at the stock overclocked speed and you will still have a card that will smoke every other stock 7800 GT other than EVGA's e-GeForce 7800GT CO.

The latest, greatest driver is the Nvidia Forceware 81.95. Download it from Nvidia. XFX's most current driver on their site is the old 81.89 driver. My understanding is that XFX does nothing to the standard Nvidia drivers other than strip out support for older generation cards.

Has ZZF shipped anyones order? I ordered this for a friend who is without a card and expected the thing this week being that the order was placed on Saturday. I even orderd something from Newegg last night and they shipped it last night and it should be here tomorrow. Great price but such slow service for something they say ship via 2-day air.

They shipped mine yesterday.
I've ordered many times from ZZF, this was the first time they're slow to ship
I hope it doesn't become a habit

Should you have any further questions or concerns please give us a call back at
510 739 1890 ext 2200.Thank you.

regards,
ZipZoomFly.com CS

I orderd this this on Saturday and since then it went and came back in stock. I thought there inventory was real time and what waste of my time, I guess that "packed" crap is automatic after a day or so. I bet it comes back in stock right after the rebate expires. I should have stuck with Newegg.

This was the main reason why at the end I went with Newegg.
Also, Monarch had it, but their shipping was for like 7.81 and it was FedEx ground. I'm not saying this is bad, but I rather get the card tomorrow or Friday than hopefully/maybe next week.

This morning I ordered mine at Newegg and it is at step 4. Should be shipped this afternoon or tomorrow morning (no rush-order).

Just my 0.02cents.

Placed my order yesterday around 10:00am PST. Was shipped around 5 or 6 pm... I checked this morning and it's already out for delivery. I do live in So. Cal. though, but wow!!, this is really fast delivery.

Just replaced my 6800 with the new XFX 7800GT.
Boy, it sure is LOUD.
Fan speed is always on High for some reason, maybe because I didn't use XFX driver CD?

Funny thing is, it looks totally different than the picture on the reviews & store.
Instead of silver, it has matte black PCB, black heatsink fan & black top handle bar.

And another weird thing is, it came with a 6-pin to 4-pin Y-power cable. But the card has 4-pin Molex?? It's as if the card should have 6-pin connector instead of 4-pin molex.

UPDATE:
I didn't see it at first, but the box says "Extreme Edition".
Probably why it has black PCB, heatsink, with XFX logo LED on top

I was unable to unlock the disabled pipelines.
But it's able to run at 490/1125, no artifacts yet.

I believe the 6 pin Y to 4 pin is used in SLI for hooking both of them together. I know many have used an addiional fan to quiet it down. Go to Anantech.com and ask around there. They are quite knowledgeable. As for color, mine looks exactly like the picture but I bought my through Newegg so I am unsure where you got yours. I am sure they could have possibly been using an older picture or something.

I'm supposed to receive mine tomorrow but the LOUD fan-noise concerns me since my current x800xl is very quiet. Is there anyway to tame this noise down using software control or would someone recommend some aftermarket kit?

I haven't installed my 7800 yet.

Do I have to plug this power cable if I only use 1 video card? Or it's just for SLI? What happened if I don't plug it in?

You need to use the connector even with 1 7800GT. You should also use separate cables from the supply to power the connector.
