Is the 7600GT sort of like the 6600GT of the 6000 series? In terms of being in the middle for it's series.

How good is the xfx warranty support? The 7900gts has been having problems lately..

Wouldn't the X1800XT be faster than 7900GT?

I dont know much about them ...just going with the core speeds.

7900: 470/1370
X1800XT: 625/1500

You must look at pipes also.

I've heard the XFX warranty is very good (double lifetime [2 owners]), I've heard the evga warranty is equally good (dunno about 2nd lifetime though).

As far as the 7900gt being stock, even without volt-modding, don't they OC extremely well? Or is it just safer to buy something OC'd at factory? One user review says he pushed it to 562/1616 using stock cooling and coolbits.

For me it was either this at stock (and try to push to 500/1500) or get the evga KO which is 500/1500 from factory.....but $35 more.

The factory OC doesn't matter with some companies (ie evga) since they cover overclocking. These 7900gt are essentially 7900gtx but with lower stock voltage and less memory. A lot of people have been volt modding these cards and reaching beyond 7900gtx speeds but at the same time, a lot of people have been getting defective cards. It isn't known for sure what the problem is but there are theories out there. EVGA is getting close to fixing the problem but only time will tell.

I've been keeping my eye out for the evga 7900gts only because they have very good support. Next day air replacements, free games, etc.

I haven't heard much about xfx but if more people could schime in on their exp. with xfx it would be very appreciated.

If you are going to buy this card, be aware that there is a chance you will have to RMA it.

XFX does have a lifetime warranty. That is definitely the cheapest 7900gt ive ever seen.

RMAed a 6800GT that artifacted. Compared to EVGA and BFG, they are a bit slow as I got my card in about 2.5 weeks and I'm in California. But I reached their CS quite fast.

So will this be able to clock just as well as the 520mhz version with voltmods?

Also will this work in SLI with the 520mhz version?

That "damn hot" is the problem. Xfx has the highest defect rate with 7900GTs and the slowest RMA service. You can get the Evga for just a little more and their latest 7900GTs are revised and no longer suffer the wide spread problems. Their RMA will cross ship and they provide overnight service. About the best company I have ever delt with. There is an article about this problem and how various vendors are dealing with it available , google for it before you go for the Xfx. Just my suggestion for what it's worth........
The Evga 7900GT KO is VERY fast and almost silent also.

....Holy. That's one hell of a price, I might jump on it.

Cardio, I haven't really heard any bad things about XFX's support. Any links?

These 8-hour offerings seem pretty good. LMK if you think otherwise.

XFX PV-T71G-UDF7 GeForce 7900 GT (470MHz) 256MB for $239.99 AMIR of $30. $6.67 Three Day Shipping

Zipzoomfly.com has the same deal with free shipping.

No, no they don't (searching "PV-T71G-UDF7" pulls up a card for $320). And anything of a decent price+MIR (like the evga KO) is OOS anyway.

I should rephrase it, they had a similar deal with free shipping.
