XFX 8800GT 512MB @ Dell for ~$200 shipped + tax

Mine was ordered 11/30 (number 2) and shipped 1/3/08, but they screwed up (or screwed me intentionally) by shipping it Ground instead of Next Business Day. My shipping was upgraded weeks ago and still shows Next Business Day on Dell's site. A rep claimed it was a mistake and offered $16. I'd rather have gotten it today, but it's too late. I also found that Dell overcharged me $10 anyway. It just seems like each and every aspect has been screwed up.

Also interesting, the rep told me that the "original" price of the card was $339 (through EPP)!

I've seen this first-hand. A couple of years ago I went to my local Best Buy to purchase something that was a "limited quantity per store, no rain checks" kind of deal. As I was waiting for them to unlock the doors, I could see four people in line at a register each buying multiples of that item; all were wearing blue shirts, of course. There wasn't a single unit left on the shelf when they opened the doors.

I'm guessing this is how people that work at Best Buy can afford to survive on their tiny salaries...they're probably all eBay PowerSellers.

that really depends on what they buy. I asked a friend to get me a 880GT using his employee discount. Let's just I could've just bought it from Newegg or something. At best, it was a few dollars off.

Well I got my card from the egg by the 2nd, not bad considering I'd ordered on the 30th
got my case and PSU finally too, the build is complete (for now) and I couldn't be happier.

On a side note Dell neglected to auto-cancel my order despite their incessant email. so it looks like I'll have to talk to call India one more time.

Did you get your credit from Paypal yet? My xfx arrived yesterday but still no $50 back to my account. I called Paypal and they said it should be credited by Jan 31st...but I'm suspicious. I'd be curious to know how many people who got their cards have also gotten the $50 so far.

I purchased the card before the paypal promotion. SO I don't get any credit back.
