For the 100% of people curious about price and dealer, it is $60 + s&H, after $40 MIR, at TigerDirect.

Thanks for posting, sfmedic. You can make future deal posts better by including all the information.

Also I bought this for my son for christmas for his rig, and he is very happy.

Technically, you should be able to get it from Buy.com for $59.99 with free shipping.

$114.99 - $40 rebates - $5 coupon - $10 (1st time google checkout) = $59.99

Dumb question here...I know nothing about graphics cards (I don't game) but I'm looking to build an HTPC.

This seems like a viable candidate because it seems to be passively cooled, and therefore quiet. And all the "this does HD WHOO HOO!" stuff on the specs seem good as well. My questionis: Why is an s-video port labeled "HD out?" Can you really get 1080i out of an S-video port? What about 1080p?

Obviously, ideally, you'd have a DVI out, or a DVI->HDMI, but right now my TV only supports component. Are there DVI->component adapters?

I guess that's a lot of general questions, but pretty much I'm wondering if this is a good HTPC vid card.

Thanks!

That svideo port lookalike can actually act as component output with the provided dongle.

Yes, the svideo port will work with a normal svideo cable but comes with a dongle that uses the same port for component output.

Yes, this would make a good HTPC card. Tempted to buy it myself.

I got this card before Christmas for less than $50 after rebate and have been very happy with it. Still a good deal at current price.

You can also get DVI-Component adaptors for pretty cheap. I believe mine was around $7 shipped. Just make sure it compatible with your card.

Not all DVI is digital. There are several different types of DVI connections, and one of them is analog.

I would have to look it up, but I think DVI-D is digital, as is another one, and DVI-I is analog.

I googled and saw that dongle with some other version of this card...we sure it comes with it?

You'd better read those rebate terms very closely. I bought one of these at Christmas. Both rebates required original Bar Code, etc. I sent in copies on the fifteen dollar rebate and explained that original went in on the other rebate. They went to the same address, but with different department "addresses". Sure enough it was rejected. I was told I would get a further email and I have not. I have submitted all documentation to my state attorney general's office, but why should I have to go through all of this nonsense to combat what is explicit fraud.
Has anyone here received both rebates and if so how did you do it?

Well, that is true- I did not consider the slim chance someone would have a DVI-I only card (no VGA connector), and DVI-I do have the additional 4 analog VGA signal compatible pins around the long guide peg (except ASUS's cheaper cards) to be able to utilize DVI to VGA adapters. So I suppose a special cable to convert that would be possible, but still very unlikely (especially that cheap- but I welcome a link as I would be interested in seeing such a cable). And I would assume a VGA(DB15)-component cable would be more common...

All DVI are digital (Digital Visual Interface). DVI-I has a digital PLUS analog signal.
