Wow, those are clearly inaccurate test results if I'm seeing what I think I am- it would seem in almost all the tests, it shows the 7900GTX (non XXX) beating the X1900XTX, which is wrong. The X1900XTX is faster than a stock GTX. Anyway, remember the availability of this card is about ZERO and it costs $600. You can get an X1900XT for $420, and easily get a new VF900, and OC the X1900 to 700+ core, 1600+ memory, and own the "XXX".

I really like that stock GPU cooler they use on the GTX cards. Great design.

Some of the test results did look a bit off, but every site uses different settings. No doubt it's a fast card.

Well, aside from the vs. ATI issues (I agree that X1900XTX is the best-performing card), they beat EVGA's $580, currently out of stock Super Turbo Uber Leet Edition 7900GTX by 10MHZ of core speed and 20MHz on the RAM (x2 for effective right?). Guess the MSRP on this XXX Edition thing is the same, so whichever card is available wins... although in my Step Up from 7800GTX, I went for the non-OC EVGA card, since the $80 MSRP difference only picks up 40MHz core speed, that I could probably add with Coolbits anyway =^)

"Fastest Card On The Market", sorry, but that is false. No card wins every benchmarks.

No compromises? Hows HDR+AA in Oblivion? Oops, cant have that. HDR+AA in Serious Sam 2? Oops, cant have that. Hows 8xAA at 1920x1200? Oops, not playable. Seems to be some compromises there.

hmm... weird that a stock 7900 is performing better ... but guru3d usually has good reviews so im not gonna use the word "biased" here

They used the 84.43 driver.

Everything seems to be inorder though. Im just surprised in the sudden F.E.A.R performance with the G71 based cards.

Oh, come ON Rollo "oh, I mean Wreckage", the 7900GT outperforming the X1900XTX? In your wet dreams.

as long as we're satisfied with our own purchase, who cares which card is the best?!

sooner or later people are going to do dual GPU, but not SLI/Crossfire: have an ATI card for Oblivion and an Nvidia card for Quake 4, heh. At least as long as there seem to be significant performance variances between the top end Nvidia vs. ATI. That said, I bought Nvidia last year, so I'm stuck with it awhile, here's hoping the next game I really like is a "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" title.... pfffffffffffffffffff.

As usual, Wreckage can't read and comprehend at the same time. He's strictly comparing the 7900GTX to it's predecessor and talking about the card itself, nothing else. A strong hint for most would be the complete lack of mention of Ati in the conclusion.

well, aside from the fact other reviews conflict with these results, even if the XFX is as fast, it still lacks HQAF, the ability to do HDR+AA, and oh.. if those aren't dealbreakers, the fact it's $100 more than the XTX and $160 more than the XT certainly seems to be.

now if only ati would give the stock x1k series a more elegant cooling solution and make it quieter.

still, if you're an nv fan, that XFX is a great card - if you can actually get one

oh well, whether you prefer ati or nvidia, at least you'll have some great choices.. well, maybe unless you're an nv fan and you don't have the xtra $100+, or even if you did but couldn't order one heh.

Not to mention the XFX XXX model costs $580 which is $100+ more than an X1900 XTX. Gee Trollage looks to me you're advertising the XFX card!!!111!!!

If you feel the need to knock the review, I would first do a little exploring strictly for other reviews that utilize the same driver used in the Guru article. Then pass your judgement. Sounds fair, yes? I believe it was 84.43 that Guru used, and the review you linked to used 84.21's. Just compare the 7900 scores to other ones with previous drivers. Just ignore the ATI scores for now.

Those results are actually pretty much in line with what most other sites are getting. They just didn't test the games that ATI is generally stronger in (BF2, COD2 and Oblivion).

I doubt one driver revision would have as much of an impact on overall scores.
