Not according to the XFX website (via google)
Power Requirements:
Non-SLI: 630W Minimum Power Supply
SLI: 680W Minimum Power Supply
One 6-Pin Power Connector
One 8-Pin Power Connector

From experience I can tell you that I ran a 280 GTX on a 610w PSU without issue

Earthwatts 430W maybe?

Looks like it has 30A which should be enough. If you want to overclock the videocard and you have an overclocked quad core with lots of hard drives, probably no. Manufacturer recommendations are for noobs who buy on watts instead of checking the 12V amp rating

edit: but it also needs an 8 pin and a 6 pin PCI-E connector (I think your psu doesn't have the eight pin). Has an adaptor but I'm guessing that is for the six pin. Sometimes pros can be noobs too...

thank you sgrinavi and edplayer.

sorry i was mistaken, looking at the newegg order history I actually have a neopower 480W which is almost 4 years old. it has 2 12V rail and the biggest one is 18A. and I am using the 6pin PCI-E connector with a 8800GT and I don't remember if I had ever seen an 8pin before.

looks like new PSU is in order?

I'm jumping on this. I've been looking for an upgrade to my 8800GT.

Thanks OP!

good deal! I am running 8800GT as well, and don't want to upgrade my power supply.. Looks like the Nvidia card is the way to go, without using too much power. thanks for posting!

ya and 5 others says 55nm...

Does it even matter though? Just remembered. Doesnt the 55nm use a different board design that is cheaper and inferior?

I'm a bit out of touch when it comes to GPU's but generally speaking, a smaller manufacturing process means less heat which means more head room to overclock.

Ya the flaw is, the 55nm comes with a different board design and a cheaper heatsink... So I decided I dont care which I get

looks like it's 55nm from the review, but no one complain about the fan noise, so it's good to go!!

I received the 55nm version. Had to modify my Antec SOLO just a tad to get it to fit. This card is huge!
