XFX HD 5870 not living up to it's advertised speed. What should I do?

Flash to a 5870 bios and overclock that sucker and see how high it will go.

? What? Obviously somethings wrong with the card at the current clocks, I imagine flashing it to a 5870 BIOS would not only ruin a potential RMA, but would not allow it to clock any higher as it's having issues at 875.

Also, Magick, nice OC on those 5850s, any special cooling for 1.24 volts and 1000 core?

Need to read farther into the thread. I have the replacement.
Also I have confirmed that the card is the original reference design. http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814150456

Now I just need to find a the bios that will let me push the core beyond 900.

I completely read the first of your double post, but missed the one beneath that saying you had gotten them back :S.
