edit: Thanks for the TPU 1440p benchmarks, @GodisanAtheist . That helps put the lower price into perspective.

One problem that I had with my 6950 XT is that it was literally a bit too long for my mid-tower RGB case, so watch out for these ASRock and XFX triple-fan cards on the higher-end AMD GPU chipsets.

Yeah it's a very alright deal.

6800 is a little faster than the 3070ti ($599 MSRP) and a little slower than the 4070 vanilla ($599 MSRP).

Reasonably slower than the 4070S though ($599 MSRP).

Around Black Friday this was $370 and I thought it was a solid deal at that price point. It also qualified for a Zip payment promo (and maybe Affirm promo at another point), which was about a further 10% discount.

$400 is a tougher price point to recommend because of the GeForce RTX 4070 Super launch. Now $599 is in a different stratosphere IMHO, but it's also a lot more future proof. There is already some price pressure on AMD, and the newer RX 7700 XT is within spitting distance at $430. Just noticed the RX 7800 XT has dropped down to $500 for several models.

I'd recommend the RX 7800 XT if it can get down to $480ish; try to wait for another Zip or Affirm payment promo at Newegg whichever components you need to buy.

OTOH most 8gb 4060 it's are at the $399 price point and the 16gb ones are roughly $460.

So if $399 is a stretch budget and parts above that price point are just not in the running, the 6800 will offer you the best raster performance out of its competitors.

I have the QICK model and the only difference I can find from this SWFT, is mine has snazzier front and backplates. Clocks and features look identical. And can confirm, the card is a heckin' chonker. Make certain it will fit in your case. I had to pull a HDD drive cage from my Phantek full tower to make it fit. Worked out long run since my Hellhound 7800XT is a big boy too. Amusingly, the QICK fits in a CoolerMaster nr200 easier.



You also need to edit the title to reflect the current $20 price drop.

The QICK 7700XT is $40 more with 4GB less. About the same performance too. Unless you really need the AV1 encoding not certain it's worth the extra money?

The only comparable deal was when a 7700 XT dropped to $353 briefly, but that was probably a price error. If you want to go higher end, the same Zip promo will apply to a newer, better card of your choice. There is a $6 finance charge built into Zip payments, so you're looking at about 15% off.

Otherwise, to get similar value, you'll have to get a used graphics card.
