Awesome HSF. I have one myself with a Thermalright backplate. I am running mine passively, with temps on my lapped Q6600 idle 32C/ load 45C.

Nah, I bought mine 7 months ago for the same price shipped.

Its good to see they have free shipping on the back plate now. $7 for shipping on a small piece like that just cost too much.

Just a heads up for people interested in this deal. DO NOT expect to get your $10 rebate. Xigamatek handles their rebate in house, which basically means they receive your rebate and then put it in the mail shredder. Try calling their 800-number and you'll see that all you get is voice mails. Contact them through e-mail and they'll never respond. Unless things change, I would stay away...

I got a $10 Xigmatek rebate on an HDT cooler purchased at Directron earlier this year. Took a few months, and I never got any email confirmations, but it did eventually arrive (directly from Xigmatek).

For those that have a micro center near by. These have been selling for $29.99 without rebate for the last month or so, if you don't want to deal with rebates.

Good deal on a great cooler!

Great cooler. I am using it on my Q6600 @ 3.0ghz. I highly recommend the bracket listed above as the plastic bolts it comes with are horrible. I messed up my thermal paste and stressed out my MB and processor trying to get those plastic push pins in.

Thanks for the tip. You'd think a big fat heatsink like that would come with the bracket. My Zerotherm BTF95 did. Oh well, there goes the rebate!

With me, that makes three.

I had no problem.

Yea but I blame Intel for pushing that standard. Maybe I'm wrong.

Anyone new to getting giant HS like this be aware of the size. My giant older Xaser III case could not properly fit this in. I had to remove a side fan ventilation kit to fit this in. Luckily on the Xaser all the fan assembly's pop in and out easily. I didn't like losing 2 fans but this Xigmatek HS+F really keeps things cool.

I don't understand how the HSF manufacturer providing a cheap retention bracket is Intel's fault.

LOL I pushed so hard that my MB bent and my memory modules popped out of their sockets. The retention clips didn't come up, so I was confounded for a few minutes at my non-POSTing system. I ended up pushing on every connection I could think of to see if something had come loose, and I heard a click when I pressed the DIMMs.

I thought they adopted it for their factory coolers and some 3rd party vendors followed suit. Usually the manufacturer (Intel) sets the reference standard. Like I said, maybe I'm wrong. I know my Intel factory cooler has the same plastic push pins.

Seriously excellent cooler. A steal for the price. Don't forget the bolt-on kit though!

I had a old Scythe Mine cooler and upgraded to this cooler. Temps seem about same.
