i was at my cousin's house over thanksgiving. They had the boom box and it was playing christmas music the whole time. They love it and it has really good sound to at least fill a living room. It doesnt have detachable speakers to plug into a surround sound system though....boy that would be even better.

I just recieved mine today and installed it no problem. I got mine with the car kit. Great deal! If you don't end up liking it you can most likely sell it after your 3 month subscription for more than you bought it for. Only thing i don't like about the unit is the mounting system seems kind of cheap but hey you can't be too picky.

Ordered mine on the 11/30. Shipped in two packages. One will arrive later today. UPS website has very few details on the second package. Hopefully it won't take too long to get here.

John, its really simple. The antenna has a real strong magnet on it and its also really small. Its just sticks to the roof of your car with the magnet and you run the wire from it into you car to the receiever. So it was very simple. The most difficult thing was the antena wire was very very long. so there was a lot extra wire. I ended up wrapping up the wire and taking the cover off my fuse box and then putting the wire in there to hide it. It was kind of a pain but it works. Also the mounting system for the reciever isn't the best. It has a mounting system to mount it to one of your air vents. Well when i put it in drive, the shiver hits the reciever,. If i put it on the other side the turning signal lever hits the reciever but its still usable. I ordered mine wednesday and recieved it tuesday which is pretty good since thursday/friday where off days for UPS. Please be awhare that UPS will require a signature. They won't leave it at your door if your gone.

Do you need 2 accounts if say for example I wanted to listen in the car but too also listen in my office? Don't really mind buying extra equipment, but not too intereted in paying for 2 accounts? If so may just go with the home kit.

Nope, you can just pull out the SkyFi receiver out of the home kit/boombox and pop it in another cradle in your car. The account is tied to your receiver.

Thanks ncage. Got it hooked up - quick and easy. The only remaining question that I have: Is there any type of strip that I can place over the antenna line between the head (magnetized part) and the point where it reaches the windsheild? I've got the line running under the weather stripping on the windshield, starting at the top center and running around the edge all the way to the bottom where it then feeds in through the door.

The line between the antenna head and the windshield is a little loose, and I'd like to hold it down with something. Do you know of anything (short of duct tape of course ). Thanks!

Called, said mine was on back order (Skifi 2 with boombox bundle). :thumbsdown:

Although, she did say the back orders usually only take a day or two. :thumbsup:

I just talked to a guy and he said that he had no idea because the manufacturer (XM?) has not given them any information. He said that XM promised them that all orders would be fulfilled before Christmas Eve.... that sucks, I want it now.
