Regardless of how great O&A are and how ****** Stern is, XM has better music. Much better music. I've spent a lot of time listening to both. Sirius is much closer to having the playlist of an FM station.

I wish XM had NFL, but MLB is much better for the radio format.

Finally, XM hardware is far beyond anything offered by Sirius.

Edit: Can we just get this topic locked and tacked? It seems like it's brought up every other week.

"XM discovered that almost nobody was paying extra for Opie and Anthony. As a result, XM is raising their fees, and making Opie and Anthony part of the base package. This eliminates the small price advantage that XM once held over Sirius."

LOL, they charged an extra dollar a month for O&A and only 35,000 people signed up for it .

(For the record, I do listen to them sometimes...

I thought you 'grew up?' O&A has virtually the same content as the Stern show. You seem to have contradicted yourself.

You don't think O&A objectify women as sex objects? 'Whip 'em Out Wednesdays' anyone?

Just wanted to show your hypocrisy.

FYI, although this is somewhat helpful, the information in it is very outdated. As it happens I live in Minneapolis and have Sirius - there is NO WAY I lose signal in half of downtown Minneapolis. I have only ever lost coverage in a couple of areas, for no more than a couple of seconds. The actual coverage in downtown Mpls is closer to 95% than 50.

Its pointless arguing like there is a correct answer for a question about tastes.

Unless one of the two had an exclusive package that you consider a high priority, then it's just about taste, which no one can answer for you.

I'm a Sirius subscriber. Never listened to Stern. I also have XM in my office. Personally, I like Sirius' music channels a little better than XM, especially Left of Center (Sirius 26), though their playlists are starting to get more redundant. But that's just my personal opinion.

And that couldn't possibly have anything to do with their absence from the airwaves for 2 years following the St Pats thing as opposed to Stern's 18 month long commercial for Sirius? You really can't compare the 2 situations as they are vastly different.

If you think he's just a slimeball, have you not look at pics.bbzzdd.com lately ? this is atot how much of it are jessica alba as sex objects and many other. Theres probably more pervs here than that one man alone

Exactly, why pay for oprah when you can see her show for free on tv.. its not like you need to live oprah 24/7

I've edited my posts above. I'm done arguing, it seems like we get one of these threads every week, and it's always the same cast of Stern lovers vs. me.

I'm just done arguing, I prefer O&A, everyone on ATOT prefers Stern. They are fvcking radio shows, that's it.
I'm on your side. there there...

It'll be interesting to see what kind of ratings they attract now that they're back on CBS and in syndication. Presumably they'll do well now that they have no real competition, but we shall see. Some of the east-coast markets have been very loyal to Stern, but I have to imagine people will at least give O&A a chance. Personally I love Stern and have never found O&A even remotely entertaining, but to each his own.

I think O&A are funny, but the censored/uncensored format of the show is pretty lame. Stern is happy being exclusively on Sirius, he doesn't have to be the FCC's bitch.

Why do people say "Sirius has NFL, /thread"

Who listens to NFL games on the radio? Almost all the NFL games are on sunday at the same times every week, and I would wager that 99% of the people out there sit in front of their TV and watch it or go to the stadium. It's not like baseball where there are games every day at all different times. It makes sense to listen to baseball on the radio, but the NFL adds nothing to sirius.

From what I have heard (I have XM, not sirius) Sirius has better music. I cant stand any of the music stations on XM. They all go too "deep" into stuff that I dont know and dont care about. I wish they had at least one channel that was more popular stuff and a wider selection. I have heard Zeppelin on XM only once or twice for example even though they are huge. I have heard the same obscure Foreigner song 3 days in a row.

But for talk, O&A > Stern. I pretty much just listen to O&A on XM since like I said, the music stinks.

I got Sirius because of their Rock stations but since you don't listen to rock then I don't know that it matter which one you get.

FIXED!

XM has the most commercial-free music. they also have something like 5 country stations, they have numerous talk stations, and several hip-hop/rap/urban stations.

Cool thanks

Sirius has 6 R&B/Hip-Hop channels and 5 Country.

Yes. That is the plan. If I recall, I'd have to look it up, XM was shot down somehow with being able to offer video...

I don't know how. Both Sirius and XM are allocated the same bandwidth ammount. From what I hear, both have to play it pretty close with the channels they have in the given bandwidth.

I had cartoys install a Delphi skyFi-2 receiver for XM and i love it.

I did a side-by-side comparison of Sirius and XM for the stations offerd and for the most part they are pretty much the same. but I chose XM because it has BBC and MSNBC radio. I was getting tired of the local AM talk show host blabbering about the samething every morning and afternoon so haveing a couple of extra news stations is what influnced my decision.

as far as music, i can always find something that want to listen to. both companies have a pretty decent line up of music stations.
