I have a Dell 9200 on the way and need to add memory to the MB. I've heard that their are lots of problems between different DDR2 DIMMs and MB chipsets but can't seem to find if a particular memory will work. I want to use this memory: Link but not if it won't work (duh).
I've asked at Crucials website even though I expected them to say they only guarantee specific DIMMs they have tested in a 9200. But strangely, was told the XMS line will never work on any MB that does NOT support OCing! That makes no sense to me at all.
I've shyed away from memory that lists voltages of 2.0 or above based on problems people reported with high voltages and the same chipset the 9200 uses. This lists 1.9V and states that's the "standard". Different sources say the Dell is 1.8 or 1.9. if that matters.
TIA
p.s. if this is the wrong forum can someone point me to the right one? There isn't a memory forum per se and I see this as a MB/memory compatibilty issue.
