Being that much more than an iPad is going to be a failure.
That article did nothing to pique my interest. Was more enthusiastic about the Samsung Infuse on the right side.
I'm actually considering buying an 11" MacBook Air, used one the other day at the Apple Store, it was pretty sweet...

Everytime i use that thing I totally fall in love with it, but then I notice I can get an 11.6 Sony YB with the Fusion chip for like 550. Still don't know what to do.
I don't see them as a comparison at all.
The Sony doesn't differentiate itself from any other high end 11.6 out there.
Heck, I think the 11.6 Acer timeline X is better looking.
Or the Asus 12.1 UL20 is much better looking.
The Macbook Air 11.6 just has that WOW factor.
Sure the specs is not top notch but its super fast for everyday usage.
I'm hoping that's the unsubsidized price, the other devices listed are subsidized prices....
Huh?
The iPad 3G/WiFi is unsubsidized @ $629.
The iPad 3G/WiFi isn't unsubsidized.
Remember English class where they told you to not use 2 negatives in the same sentence?
All iPads are unsubsidized in the US.

The point is, feature to feature the Xoom isnt that far off of an iPad. And, AFAIK, iPad isnt readily upgradable to 4G.
edit: just looked at the iPad via Google shopping. The 3G 64GB iPad is $750 or so, doesnt have a camera, and a single core processor. Oh...and no flash.
That doesn't mean those are the exact prices we'll see at launch -- and we still don't know when that is for either device.
Gah, another stupid carrier-branded tablet.
Carriers should not be selling tablets, they could be cheaper (roughly around the subsidized pricing) and be sold in electronics/big box stores and online retailers.
really? $400 off contract? which one is it?Galaxy Tab is $399 contract free at BB. If it drops to $299 and the Xoom turns out to be overpriced, I may end up getting one.
Need to sell my iPad before iPad 2 is announced and the resale value takes a dump. I plan on getting the lowest-end iPad 2.

It is the Verizon one. It is in the weekly ad.
Both of them. Require a month to month data plan activation, anyone know if you can just cancel that as soon as you walk out the door? Any ETF for doing so?
Need some Honeycomb loving on this thing.
