XP 2000+ T-BRED AND ECS COMBO FOR 79.99 @ Fry's!

Went in today to make sure that the XP 2000+ i got two weeks ago was the same as the one in the ad for this week, but sure enough it isnt. It's the XP 2000+ T-bred with .13u instead of the .18u like the Agoia core. This is a super nice deal. I just got mine from the Hamilton store in Cambell and they still had some in stock but im not sure how many so hurry.

Nostalgia abounds here. Unfortunately I moved out of state but I used to drive up to SJ and shop at that store. A sorry state of affairs for the most part but you could get some good deals; like this one. Perhaps you could be more explicit as to what the heck the deal is though. I guess we can assume it is an ECS MB (K7S5A Pro?) and CPU? Also, knowing that store, they will probably be out in a short time so as BigxGuy7 says, better get there fast if you want in on this one.

Yeah sorry if i wasn't clear enough the first time. Its 79.99 for a mobo cpu combo. ECS K7S5A Pro and AMD XP 2000+ T-bred Core. I think you might even be able to get away with a raincheck...either way it wouldnt hurt to try....well except the time it takes to find out...and maybe your gas...hehe but yeah...good deal if you can get it

I got one on Saturday morning and it was a TBredA. I'm not going to overclock it (much), but I was hoping to get the cooler running TBredB. This is going with the Newegg $39 Asus nForce refurb and I was hoping to use passive cooling in a Dell 2350 case (back case fan/duct over CPU). Hopefully it doesn't run too hot.

It depends if you get a TBredA or TBredB. There is a 5 character part number on the black sticker on the CPU. If it's xxxxA, you have a TBredA, if it's xxxxB, you have a TBredB.

The fastest AthlonXP TBreds are TBredBs, so the TBredBs should generally overclock better than TBredAs. Check out cpudatabase to see what others are getting and what cooling and voltage they used: http://www.cpudatabase.com/CPUdb/ .

How is the Fry's in Industry compared to Burbank or Anaheim? If you don't mind my asking...

Anyways, this is an awesome deal. I'm thinking about going to Fry's sooner or later, if not to pick one up, to at least drool over it.

Also, if someone really wants one, and for some reason or another, can't get one themselves, I'm more than willing to pick one up if you paypal me some funds to cover the merchandise, tax, and shipping costs (pm, im, or email me)...

Nearly All Athlon XP cpus sold at frys are now t-bred. The only exception is the 1900+, still a palomino. But the overclock difference between a T-bred A and Palomino is nothing compared to a T-bred B.
