XP 2400+ @ 2512MHz!! (Air Cooled)

It appears that HardOCP has OC'ed their 2400+ to 2400MHz (EDIT: 2512MHz. ) Link Sweeeet!!

I was pretty surprised at the outcome on the first try. We tried moving up a bit more in FSB, but it was apparent that we had found the CPUs sweet spot on the first try as it was a bit unstable at 2450 or so.

looks like they have settled on 2512Mhz by adding the Thermalright SLK-800. You should change your thread title.

Thanks for pointing that out Dug... That was at 1.95V. Still within reach if you have a mobo that will go that high. Still, 2400MHz at 1.85V is not bad either.

I don't understand, I think to unlock the Athlon XP, you need to connect L1. But why the article talks about L3, does it mean it still needs to connect L1 as well as L3?

On the TBred chips you have to connect the L3 bridge instead of the L1.

I agree toms already shows benchmark results for amd up to like 3400+ levels....It doesn't seem to do much good and it appears the amd rating will need another adjusting!!!

It clearly shows the need for the barton with 512kb l2 cache and 166fsb...Ocing an xp will look like a waste soon if the cache can deliver a nice performance boost like the northwood did versus the willamatte and the fsb can boost it another possible 5-10 percent....Then it will probably oc to same levels...
