xp file&printer sharing on domain pc's

maybe i am missing something here but it seems to me that on a xp machine that is a member of a domain that has a resource that needs to be shared (ie a printer), that you have to create an account for each person who needs to access that resource on that pc, or make wide open for everyone to have full rights? Can XP not pull usernames from the Domain? NT and 98 can, why not XP? Oh btw, this is a domain, not an active directory. The pull down list only yields that local machine. Any combination of user@domain or domain\user gives me nasty messages.......

Sure it can

1st, amke sure simple filesharing is DISABLED

Then when u click on the folder to share, when u add the user, click location and make sure it is set to the domain name.
Then click advanced
Then click find now and all the domain usernames will appear.

You are authenticating to the domain correctly right?
When u login u should have 3 fields
username
password
domain name

hmm...odd...it works now....i swear before it wouldn't pull user names from the domain, it would only pull user names from the local machine.....
