It's been like this forever and i've never been able to find out the problem no matter how much i ask around. When sharing stuff from one home computer to another (my computer), it's too slow. 12 minutes for a 400 MB file, it goes the same speed with everything else. It should obviously be much faster than that, i've tried everything ever suggested to me, but none of it has worked. Only thing i can think of is maybe the cables that connect to my computer from the other one are bad in some way. Using a linksys router and have a cable connection. My brother's computer (in the same house) can share at the normal speed, which is much faster. Can anyone help? No? Ok...i just thought i'd try

I've got 3 pc's on my network at home. My wife's pc would transfer slowly. You could transfer files to her computer just fine, but if you transferred something from her pc to one of the others, it was horribly slow. Changed the NIC and the problem went away.

You said you've tried everything anyone has ever suggested, but you don't say what those things were. Just so folks don't waste their time offering help, why don't you tell us what you've done so far.

NIC (Network Interface Card) if you change the NIC yes you need to reset up your connection to the Network.

Check in Network Neighborhood, and look at the connection properties. Make sure you're at 100Mbps full duplex.
