XP Home is hanging with a blue screen during a game and indicating NV4_disp.dll as the problem. I am running an old GeForce2 GTS 32 meg video card, and tried updating the drivers from Nvida web page for XP, but still hangs. Can I just put a newer video card in this box (currently with AMD 1800 processor and 512 pc2100)? Will I have to go through XP activation again? What can you change without XP requiring activiation? Should I try System Restore? I made a restore image right after installing XP. Thanks
EDIT: This page MSfaq answers my question about activation. I also used the Compatibility Wizard to run my game with win98 settings and reduced the color to 16 bit. The old card worked fine with 98 so maybe these new settings will work. I did change out my cd-rw before installing xp and shouldn't need to make any more changes.
