XP Home boots up but only see black screen and mouse pointer

Hey, i havnt posted anything for a while because you guys helped me got all my problems fixed but now i have a problem. My XP Home boots up but i only get a black screen and a mouse poinet its the exact same with safe mode except i see the safe mode in all the corners.
Plz can anyone help me.

You've gotta run scan disk on reboot. This probably happened because of a faulty driver so uninstall and reinstall those

Same thing happened to me yesterday.. I did scan disk then redid my drivers and I'm all good now

it also could very well be display or monitor drivers. also check device manager, if you have two display adapters, you may need to switch as the other one may be corrupted. the same thing happened to my lappy.
