XP installation hangs

Hi,

I'm trying to install a fresh copy of xp and after the formatting stage the computer restart and continue the install for 2 sec then the cd stop spinning, the screen turn black and the install stop.

I've tried with 3 different XP disks and same result?

What can cause the installation process to hang like that? Installed XP b4 but never had that issue.

I had that issue happen with Vista a couple of weeks ago. It turned out to be a bad stick of RAM.

it happened to me about a year ago.
i switched a lot of parts and, at the end, it was the PSU.

Thanks nordloewelabs and Sivart, i've swapped the ram and tried different HD but to no avail.

After couple trials, when it restart i get "restarting XP installation" then screen goes black and CD stop spining again.

It's really weird i would love to know what's causing this install to die off like this.
