I'm having some rather serious trouble with my XP Installation. This is a fresh installation of Windows XP Home Edition after fdisk'ing. Any advice or help would be highly appreciated, as after working ten hours on this problem I haven't gotten it installed yet. Specifications of my computer are included below.

Well, for the first few hours I couldn't get XP to copy the installation files over, but after following some advice from Microsoft (diabling RAM caching/shadowing and un-overclocking my CPU) I can get the files to copy successfully now.

But, now, after the files are copied I can't get them to install. The machine will startup to a black screen, have the WinXP logo blink on, then a mouse cursor will appear on a 'light-blue' background, and then I get a blue-screen. This happens every time. The hightlights of the blue-screen are: c000021a (Fatal System Error) - Windows SubSystem system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x75eaa190 0x004ff3a4) - System has been shut down.

I have already tried some things to get it going without avail. First off, I tried removing everything from my system except the VC, HD, Keyboard, and Mouse. I even unplugged both CD-ROMs after I got it successfully copying the files over. I have also done mutliple fdisk's and formats trying both NFTS and FAT32 formats. I recieve the same troubles with both file-formats.

As I said before, any help would be appreciated as I would /really/ not like to have wasted my money on XP.

hmm, tough problem there, don't have an answer for it.

I just remember when I installed XP Prof. I had to constantly be moving the mouse during installation or my machine would lock up. That was kind of annoying.

try installing w2k and upgrading to xp. If that works, you know it's a compatibility issue with either your motherboard or you graphics card.

Start eliminating hardware from you're system until it works, also maybe upgrade the bios on the AD11 MB... Also go into bios and restore to fail safe settings and see if that helps, also try to disable ACPI and install that might help.. I have the same motherboard and I didn't turn it off and I get some i/o errors in my system log but my XP seems stable, urs might be having a problem with some of you're other hardware, hope this helps...

Actually, just looking at it, I'm thinking it might be your Winmodem. Not entirely sure, though. Remove that and see if you can install successfully.

i am having similar errors he is getting...c0000221 but it happens when i use the XP boot disk. This is really causing a lot of problems. I have reinstalled XP serveral times, and each time ihave a different problem. Now it goes to a point where i can't install it in any of my hard drive....it seems like after installing xp, and if you want to use the boot disk to do a clean install, there is some residual left that is causing the problem. I am thinking of redoing my boot disk, hopefully this will solve the problem.
