<< yeah i tried win2k, but i like XP purty interface >>

Pish posh, if you want "purty" interfaces just download some utility to modify it. Win2k totally crushes XP in terms of performance and stability.

try playing games on win 2k

besides xp is much more compatiall with different programs and via chipset

I like both, games are a no go on W2K and XP is much more "user" friendly. Plus W2K takes forever to boot.

I like XP alot, but there are some kinks that will be worked out after a SP.
For some reason Return to Castle Wolfenstein runs like garbage on XP(Slow lvl load times in XP and it is choppy sometimes, neither of these problems exist in W2K), but that's the only issue I have so far.

All around i'd say I like XP quite a bit better than W2K. Which is not to say there is much wrong with W2K, I think W2K is great also.

what problem do you have playing games on 2k? I currently play CS, UT, Q3, RCTW, NHL2k1, Madden2k2, Diablo 2, Operation Flashpoint... hrmz.. looks like I have alot of problems...

compatability... "pish posh" as another user said.... its called download a service pack... next

XP is pure evil ... plain and simple... its microsofts attempt to put a choke hold on the whole "standards arena" ..... this is your big brother putting you in his famous full nelson and waiting for you to beg for mercy... this is just a warning. This is just M$FT saying... get ready cuz next time we wont be so nice...

my favorite was when I tried to install PC anywhere on XP... I forget the exact error message but it was something to the order of:

"if you install this product it will diable critical windows system components making your system unreliable and possibly unable to boot. It will disable such features as remote desktop and the ability to log into your computer"

XP is evil... its not pretty... its not stable... its not campatible... on ya... what happened to OpenGL in XP? hrmz....

I agree, I like xp, plus it was free. (Thanks AT Hot Deals)

Damn that Dr. Suess.

I have never left all of my component in my frankenstien computer and had everything working on install.

Well, everything but ezcd 4, but downloaded nero and it works better anyways!

For $299 though, I would pass.

Demonicon: Dude, i played return to castle wolfenstein and it played really good. Don't think i can blame XP for slow downs if i had any.
and that sh*tty compatibility wizard on xp is totally worthless with old games. i tried playing Birth of the Federation with it and i can't get it running, weirdest thing is, i could run it under xp beta, go figure...

I'm reinstalling all the older games i have stacked up in da house and seeing how they hold up under xp, but for now, BOTF is the only game i haven't been able to play... yet.

well i consider xp extremely stable and one kick ass OS. I also think its more user friendly than win2k, which my boss likes.

i brought home my work cadcam app, and loaded up a 300mb iges files, which is the norm size we work with. normally i wouldn't it consider loading up the file in win98, since it would give me a hard crash and only way out of it is a reboot.

however, i installed the cadcam app, loaded the iges file, started rendering it, and XP didn't even stutter, it was a beauty to watch the render the file, heck i didn't even notice any slowdown in xp. well it passed my stability test, so imo xp is great os
