Weird issue...
I re-installed XP a couple of nights ago on a fresh system with an ASUS P4P800 motherboard and when I did the usual "Device Manager" check, I had flags on the following items:
-Ethernet Controller
-Multimedia Audio Controller
-SM Bus Controller
-USB Controller
-Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
all of which I would consider fairly generic and could easily be found on ASUS' website as a chipset driver package or something... but it's not.
I tried right-clicking each item and clicking "Update Driver", but it seems that it is set-up by default to not go online to search for an updated driver... I think it may have something to do with the fact that the PC was not connected to the internet when I first tried to do this. Now that it does have a connection, I want it to go online to search for a new driver, but I don't know how to do that directly from Device Manager, especially if it appears to be set up as default NOT to look online now...
