Alright, I am trying to install WinXP on my kk266-r. I have the drives on my AMI raid controller, but they are not Raid-ed. I choose the driver off the disc when the installation starts, then it just frezes when it says "Setup is starting windows"(in the bottom). I didn't find any new drivers on Iwills site.

Please gimme some advice on this one.

Thanks!

winxp desktop boots up in about 6 seconds after the bios shows up on my PC, very fast.

My win98se takes about 18-20 seconds...winxp shuts down and loads up very quick friends!

Win2k doesn't like the onboard raid on the KT7A (at least it used to not), the solution was just to switch your hard drive (as long as it's not RAIDed) to a standard IDE controller, then just switch it back when it's installed. But it sounds like you're all ready trying that, and it should work.

2 suggesstions

1)Put your harddrive on normal IDE channel and try. If it does the same thing
2) Use a different RAM.

Alright, well XP is working fine on my HDD. I connected it to the primary IDE controller.
