XP Recovery Disc

I am running Windows XP Home with SP2 & SP3. I used AutoStream to slipstream SP2 to a recovery disc and I believe that I have a good disc. SP2 is 266MB and the finished disc is 576MB. My question is: Is there anyway to verify that the recovery disc will work OK? I realize that I am opening my self up to some sarcastic answers.
I didn't slipstream SP3 because my directions only covered SP2 and I was operating the the limits of my expertise as it was.

You could install windows to a virtual machine from the disc. If you can install from the cd then it probably works fine for repairs also.

Search for Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. Its probably the easiest to use desktop VM and its free. Although it doesn't have many advanced features.
