Have had this problem for sometime now and can;t seem to figure it out.
i've reinstalled XP a few times in the past with this same problem. (Different Hardware each time)
I have 5 PC's Networked together - 4-Port SMC Router - 12-Port Hub - RR Cable - Cat5 Cable
1 PC Running XP Pro - others running Win98SE
All PC's can share and transfer files fine, except for the XP machine.
All the non XP Machines can access the XP box fine, but the XP box does the following when trying to browse/transfer files from the Win98SE Machines:
If i try to copy a file (Right click,Copy) to transfer to XP,it will show the hour glass for about 30-40 Secs, then the menu will come up to copy:
after i copy and try to transfer to the XP Machine,(right click, paste)it will again show the hour glass for about 30-40 secs.then the files transfer fine.
Also when clicking into each folder,it will pause like this for about 10 secs.
Network Config:
Client for MS Networks
TCP\IP
NIC - (10/100)
File Printer Sharing
If anyone can help me with this i'd appreciate it.
Shawn.
