XP - Sonicwall VPN Problem / works fine in 2000

2000 machine
XP machine
DLink firewall/switch
ASDL
Terminal Client

Work:
SonicWall SOHO2
Compaq Server
Terminal Server


I want to connect to my computer from home to a server at work. I have all the necessary programs (SonicWall VPN Client 8.0 Terminal Client etc)/ passwords/ certificates etc installed on my home computer.

The problem is I can't connect with my computer that runs XP. I checked and double (ad nauseum) checked all the setting etc. The exact same settings work perfectly fine on my 2000 machine and I can tunnel right through. At first I thought it was my XP's "personal firewall" garbage, but that's all turned off.

I thought maybe my DLink firewall was getting in the way but the 2000 computer goes through it just fine (even when port 1723 is closed) so I don't think that's it (I tried the settings in XP with 1723 open and closed and it didn't change anything). My other idea was maybe that the firmware of the Sonicwall SOHO2 at work isn't upgraded fully or properly (though I was there when my boss and I did it and it worked fine).

I appreciate anyones thoughts or help. The SonicWall can't use XP's native VPN connections so that's out - the software though that my admin gave me works fine though (at least on the 2k machine).

Any ideas?

I forgot to add something pretty important. The XP machine CAN connect to the VPN it just won't send any data.
The sonic wall icon tells me "Your computer has established at least one secure connection, but is not transmitting any data." This is where I'm really confused. If the connection has been established why won't data transmit?

On the sonicwall box, in the VPN config / advanced - are any boxes checked?
