XP SP1 slipstream help

I just used AutoStreamer to add SP1 to my XP disk. I did as the program said and burned the image but the computer won't boot from the CD as it says insert CD with correct something but if you insert the CD in a computer with windows installed it opens the XP splash screen asking what you want to do. What did I do wrong? I used the XP CD and the computer booted from it the first time and installed XP. I need this CD to work for my 250GB HD install this weekend for large CD support on windows install.

Also nlite is an excellent slipstreaming program. You might want to try it instead.

I used nlite and it seems to work fine. I am installing it on a snail system 333mhz as I type to see if it worked.

I don't want SP2 right now. I just need SP1 on the install CD to be able to partition my 250GB hatachi that is right beside me awaiting a install

I will make both CD'S SP1 and SP2 right after I find out if it works on this test install.

Are you remembering to change your bios settings to boot from the CD first?

Are you remembering to change your bios settings to boot from the CD first?

Yep I did that I beleive it is the CD drives will not read a burned CD as they will not read a burned CD in windows also I have found out.

No I am installing XP on a old 633 mhz system for a friend and there cd drives won't read a burned CD for some reason and the burner errored when trying to copy a CD so I cleaned the optical lens and it burned fine so maybe it was just that but I have XP installed the hard way donnload SP2 and install that way and it runs fine so they are happy.

Did you you burn the ISO image AutoStreamer made after with Nero Express,you need to select "disk image" option in Nero Express then burn ,it`ll be bootable once it has made the XP+SP CD.

I also recommend going straight to SP2 for slipstreaming as it has all of SP1 updates included.

don't you need to select CD-ROM (Bootable) set the boot image file, boot segment, and sectors? And also make sure the ;1 iso text isn't added?

yes you do (that's what i did for all mine anyway).
