So fountain valley store has a ton of these? Where's the ad? I don't see the 2600 w/ nForce mobo deal? It's goin on right? For $89, it's a hell of a lot better than the KT333 + 2500 deal.

Anyhow, my sister's PC crapped out today so that gives me a good reason to upgrade my PC (XP2000+ with KT266A)

Hopefully the deal is still going on tomorrow...

I didn't see this deal at the FV location. I saw the CSR's list of deals and it wasn't there.

You're supposed to look at the newspaper, not the CSR for deals.

It's there.

I know this for a fact because FV is where I bought mine from...

Maybe you didn't see it because you had your eye on the Shuttle deal?

I missed the Friday Chronicle. Does anyone know what kind of processor/mobo deals are at the Houston Fry's store this week?

If you're having trouble getting this combo in Orange County, try to make a trip this way to the Manhattan Beach Fry's. I just got back and they're stocked on the N2U400's and the KT333's.

My $.02...

Sac fry's had a RUDE freaking CSR and he had a stack of them to choose from... GREAT, he only gave me a board with a retard sticker on it and refuses to look for another. I just walked behind him and went through the stack myself... all of them were returns... So begins the cycle of taking back defective returns for a new one. Apparently the FWers cleared out everythng but this 2600 and ECS combo.

why oh why do I read these threads... just to make myself drool? I need something like Fry's in my area. I'm stuck with a Wal-Mart selling DVD-burners for $139 that everyone else has clearanced for $50. Fortunately, I've got the occasional Staples deal.. but I need more to spend money on!

Why did you even accept that board that was an obvious return? I went there today at 6:30PM and saw that they had a full pallet of new ECS K7VTA mobos and a stack of two high of K7VTA returns on another pallet. The ECS N2U400A mobo I found was the last one on the shelf and I got that, but as I was looking at the go-back baskets there were about two or three in the carts. You just have to be little assertive with those CSR's, and if you have to, look for those things you need yourself without the "helpful" associates they have.

BTW which one was it that was rude to you?

It was the tall fellow. There were only 6 of the n2u400a's left when I was there and I am going to just have my mom drop by in sunnyvale to pick me up some new ones or something. I absolutely DESPISE buying returned items, and I usually have the people at the returns counter test everything out for me but I was there at like 6:55 and they wouldn't do it. I am going to test it all out tomorrow. If it seems whack. I will give my mom the call to get me one.

That was the one that helped me, too! Maybe you got him at a bad time or something, or he just wanted to get out of there after a hectic day working the weekend. Anyway, good luck to you on that board, and remember most of the time those boards are returned because the person who bought didn't know the first thing about building a PC in the first place.

Someone had mentioned they could mailorder from a particular Fry's. I can't seem to find the post via a search. Can anyone post the 800 number, or has anyone had any success having Fry's ship to them?

I would also like to mail order this deal. Is there any way to do this?

actually, those returned motherboards are usually returned by at'ers and fw'ers who grabbed the combo deal, promptly returned the motherboard unopened and kept just the cpu at the discounted price.

I thought Fry's put a stop to that a while back? And, if the returned mobo is unopened why would they put the sticker on them?

Fry's doesn't allow partial returns of a bundled deal.

Fry's in Burbank is OOS on the motherboard, but you can request a raincheck.

very true. a combo must be returned as a combo. and FYI there's only a 14 day return policy on combo deals.

Is there a Fry's that takes phone or mail order?
Pls post contact info if available, thanks

(looking at the Outpost prices, you could make $ buying from Fry's & returning to Outpost!)

This deal ended yesterday.

Fry's ads have an unusual schedule: Fri-Tue, Sat-Tue, Sun-Tue, Mon-Tue and Wed-Thu. Some in-store specials that match other stores run the usual Sun-Sat. And some unadvertised specials run for a week or longer, on pretty much random start and end dates.

I think I am gonna return mine. My mobo has the return sticker and I dont want to open their packaging to test it out so I will probably just ditch the combo. Besides, my 1800 is serving me well and can last until summer as long as games are still playable for me.
