I'm using xml to store information for multiple movies that i have. One of the tags i have is Genre and this is the only tag with multiple instances for one node.
So an example will be
<movies>
<movie>
<name>movie1</name>
<genre>Drama</genre>
<genre>action</genre>
</movie>
<movie>
<name>movie2</name>
<genre>action</genre>
<genre>drama</genre>
</movie>
</movies>
etc
I'm using xsl to put this information into a webpage where the user is able to filter further by selecting which genre they wish to view. So if they choose drama or action, it should return movie1 and movie2. The user selected genre is contained in $initGenre
This statement will work but only if they both have the same case
<xsl:if test="genre = $initGenre">
so if $initGenre contained action i'd get both movies
if $initGenre contained Drama i'd only get movie1 (which is expected)
so then i went the extra step and I tried this
<xsl:if test="translate(GENRE,$lcletters,$ucletters) = $initGenre"> (where $lcletters contains lower case letters and $ucletters had upper case letters) but this only showed movies for which the user specified genre was the first one.
so DRAMA would return movie1 only and ACTION would return movie2 only
Is there something that i'm doing wrong or am i making a wrong assumption here?
