With the he'd cages they have listed. Does that just
Mount on a 120mm fan blow hole?

Mountain Mods ripoff?

I was thinking the same thing in a way, but they do have a few design ideas that MM doesn't. It's actually good for us if there is some competition in this space.

It looks like the cages they have listed are just extras or replacements for the original cages.

The tower has the HD cage mounted in the middle.

The cube has the HD cage on the floor, underneath the motherboard tray. It's actually used to support the motherboard tray, which is actually an interesting idea because it provides support while also freeing up the sides to mount rads.

I personally think XSPC should have pre-drilled holes for their rad brackets in the floor for the side rads in the cube instead of having them mount directly to the sides. Having a rad mounted directly to the front, back, and both sides is going to make the case difficult to work with because the only removable panel would be the top one.

The main problem I have with these cases is that there seem to only be a few options whereas MM have been around for so long that they have pretty much every option you could think of for a case. I just wish that XSPC and MM would make a horizontal configuration with the PSU able to sit on the bottom of the case instead of suspended halfway or on top of the backplate. (Goes to make sure facts are straight)

I just received my CaseLabs Magnum M8 today. Really glad I chose this case over the MM's and the XSPC ones. Options are up there if not more than MM's cases, and I just can't stop staring at this thing. Price is competitive with MM and better than XSPC imo for what you get. Not to mention CaseLabs is extremely helpful. He answered tons of my questions in a timely matter and was very polite. Packaging was excellent too.

Uploading pics now, I'll throw one up here in a few.

Sweet. The CaseLabs are currently my favorite right now too. They seem to be well thought out and they actually include a full case w/ accessories for the base price.

For those who already have a lifted truck with big tires and are looking for other ways to "make up for something..."

I managed to squeak in before the discount expired, but I will say this thing was worth every penny. It's clearly evident how much thought went into this case, and I just can't stop playing with every little minor feature it has packed inside. I did add some extras, but with the discount it came to exactly the same as the base price. I added the two fan mounts for the flex bays, the XL window side panel, and one extra HDD cage (prolly won't need it but just in case). If I would have had the cash, I would've gone with the extended top as well, but I will probably just have a push or pull setup and not both. Overall I'm ecstatic with the purchase even if the wallet hurts a bit It was really hard to justify spending $300 on something like the 800D (which required modding in my application) when you can get so much more with the M8.

Hehe, I used to look at these cases the same way, and then I realized if I wanted to internally mount all my WC gear, this was the only way to go

Yeah, I think the competition is just warming up.

Now, we have:

MountainMods
CaseLabs
Little Devil
XSPC

Last year at this time all we had were MountainMods and the Lian Li PC-343B. The competition is good for us, and I'm sure the newcomers will fill out their portfolios if their initial offerings are a success.

Yeah, it's also a noise thing too. If I go back to water I want it to be near silent, which means a lot of rads with low RPM fans. Ideally, I'd like either 3x360 or 2x420, so I'd need a big case. Plus, as you mentioned, compared to the price of something like an 800D these cases really aren't much more expensive.

Exactly. While the amount of rad space the M8 offers is probably overkill for me, there just wasn't anything else out there that didn't require modding to fit 2 360's or look ugly as sin.

I looked at all of the above mentioned cases, and settled on the M8 due to price. While I loved LD's cases, the price was way out of my range and the M8 seemed to offer more for about the same cost as an MM or a bit less than the XSPC cases.

Not knocking any of those cases, they're all great options and have different things going for them. Just saying I love my M8 already and it's one of those cases I didn't even know existed in the shadows behind the more popular brands out there.

I am glad you showed me those Caselabs cases. They sure look just as nice and have a ton of options as well. I just feel like anymore I would be better off creating my own case since it would be my own instead of dealing with what each computer produces. Just don't have the time or tools to really create my own.

Now to decide since my MM case has been sitting here in my browser for about 3 or 4 weeks.

I posted a thread on here in February about CaseLabs, and no one seemed to notice.

I'm really not sure why. These cases really look well thought out and solidly built.

I personally think $500 is way way too much for the tower. Yeah it would be great for a water cooling system, but you could do just fine with many cases that cost less than half of that.

Edit:
Oh and it lacks 5.25" drive covers. They have to be purchases separately.

And it comes in flat pack form so you have to assemble it.

That is just plain way too expensive IMO.

Anyone have any experience with the H2? It costs way too much in international shipping for me to consider the MM case and yet a reseller locally has just got the XSPC H2 in stock. I need something that can mount 2x triple PA120.3's internally easily.

Meh i dont think i'll ever find a case where i wont be able to run out of room.

Unless its just mounting it straight up on the wall.

If i ever go that route, caselab would definitely be at the top of the list. But DAMN! that shit is going to be heavy. I'll keep my TJ07 a little longer, and I find my TJ07 kinda heavy now with all the watercooling setup. I think i need a forklift to move a loaded caselab.

The casters will do wonders for moving it
