XXX - a ripoff from 007?

i actually liked the fast and the furious quite a bit. and i thought he was pretty good in saving private ryan. dunno bout you guys, i think hes a good actor. he has a lot of on screen presence, that most young actors these days don't have. i haven't seen xxx yet but will see it. i think his presence is a well needed change from most of hollywood's pretty boys like paul walker, freddie prinze, brat pitt, etc.

Are you kidding me???? Let's see how much screen presence Vin Diesel would have playing the part of a dying AIDS patient.

He's going to have a similar career to Arnold. I give him 5 or so years before he gets tired of doing action films and tries to do either comedy or drama and fails miserably.

A little history. Vin Diesel did not get into the movie business because of his looks or his voice. He got in the business because they thought he was a good director and a good actor. He had a film that won the Sundance Film festival that he wrote,directed, and stared in(I am pretty sure it won). He has done more than just action flicks.

In a few years, I think he would be able to pull off dramas if he wanted. Comedies would be a hard sell IMO.

I know all about his Sundance film, but he didn't win anything that year. I know he's done much more than action flicks, but not much more and when he did, the characters didn't have much more substance. He pretty much plays the same guy in every role.

He'd be lucky to go to the Oscars twice, let alone win two like Tom Hanks did.

I dunno, i am pretty picky, and i dont watch a lot of films. There are real actors; Al Pachino, Deniro, Willis, Banderas, Brosnan, Cruise etc... and there are "action heros" Schwarsneger, Deisil and the like.

banderas, brosnan? both of those guys are average actors. The real best are Pacino, first, then DeNiro. Cruise is pretty good, Willis is really good, Edward Norton is excellent, spacey is excellent as well. For his newness to hollywood, i have to say Diesel is one to be looked out for. I would not put him by Scwharznegger other than they both are have huge muscles. other than that, the similarities end. Diesel is a much better actor than Arnold. Arnold was pathetic from day 1.

Well, whether ya like it or not, Diesel will always be this big, bad, stupid mothafrugga in every film he stars in. He is big, bold, ugly, and targeted towards 14 year old MTV teens. He doesnt have the smooth attitude, style or talent as even "pretty boys" like Brad Pitt. Look at Al Pachino in his very early days.., but Diesel is everage by best, not even that.. err. He is all about "force" and not talent.

he's definitely an honest actor... not washed out or stereotypical like your typical hollywood 'pretty boy.' just a hardcore badass guy who delivers the action that we expect.
