XXX - a ripoff from 007?

I was watching The Spy Who Loved Me last night. At the end of the movie, when bond was macking it with the Russian spy, her superior called her Triple X. I was like...omg! Obviously the new movie is a ripping off of this bond film...since the spy in the new movie is also called XXX.

Oh well!

He's supposedly good in Pitch Black (haven't seen it)

He sucked in Fast and the Furious (so did the movie)

They are trying to hype up the movie to get everyone to see it. Diesel isn't a quality actor and the film won't be good either.

I liked the rice in fast and the furious ... but that's it :Q

XXX is definately a 5-day rental from blockbuster for me though.

No I am NOT trying to compare Tom Hanks to Vin Diesel. My point was simply judging an actor by two movies is foolish. I have seen Hanks in many films. I don't personally think it is as great as he is made out to be but he is one of the best actors in hollywood.

And I did think that Joe and the Volcano was lame. But that is my personal opinion about the movie. Everyone likes different things. The point of my post was that you can't judge an actor by two movies. Everyone makes duds. Vin Diesel hasn't been around long enough to make any judgement over his acting ability. I personally love Pitch Black. It was one of the best "alien" type flicks since Aliens.

The thing is, you shouldn't judge actors based on the movie as a whole anyway. While I think the 'Burbs, Joe Vs The Volcano and Money Pit were poor movies, they weren't poor because of his acting.

I went to see xXx last night. It didn't have an epic storyline or anything, but it was a damn good movie! From a pure entertainment and fun factor it was much much better than last few 007 flicks.

xXx was a predictable cliche driven Fast and the Furious with bigger explosions and more guns. :disgust:

The movied SUCKED ASS. Vin Diesel's voice was even edited in the movie. They recorded his lines late at night or something so his still-developing pussy voice would be lower in the movie and would sound more masculine. On top of that, he's a wannabe badass, not an actor. :|

I'm pissed that I paid for three tickets to that piece of trash. The best part of the movie is the effects while rolling the credits.

A little history. Vin Diesel did not get into the movie business because of his looks or his voice. He got in the business because they thought he was a good director and a good actor. He had a film that won the Sundance Film festival that he wrote,directed, and stared in(I am pretty sure it won). He has done more than just action flicks.

In a few years, I think he would be able to pull off dramas if he wanted. Comedies would be a hard sell IMO.

XXX was an action movie, and it had lots of it. Some parts were a little weak, but it did deliver what it intended to do. If you want to see a better Vin Diesel movie, watch Pitch Black.
