We went over this aristole phrase in in my phil 1000 class friday an dI find it pretty thought provoking.
What does it take to make something a good something?
When we tell someone "Yeah it's a good watch."
How did we know that? Because it performed it's funtion well.
and what is a funtion of a watch? To tell time of course.
So the y is x's function.
So what makes us a good person?
if x is the function of y than we need to know what the function of a human is in order to judge ourselves.
So to answer if we are a good person, we need to first know what we are supposed to be doing.
What do you guys think about this train of thought?
Personally, I think I'm supposed to spend life neffing, so I'd say I'm a good person
