Where do you get the $10 off coupon? I know you can't post it so please email it to me if it's not too much trouble...

I got the last 6 at my PA store! Bought them in sets of two and they let me use the $30/$150 three times! With the rebate, that's like $25 each! Woo hoo!

BTW - I started a thread in the ForSale forum... they're available if anyone wants one for $115 shipped each (with the UPC removed of course).

j/k... The ditz that I talked to on the phone who told me they had them in stock was mistaken - they had the 20x instead of the 16x!

To top it off I ran over a skateboard on the way there - thankfully, there wasn't a kid on it, but it zipped right out from the sidewalk in front of a parked car. Flipped up from the tire & gave me two nice dings in my 1 year old car door.... turned out to be a very cold deal.

Later!

Good point, Cranston, very good point. I've been guilty of blabbing my good fortune on a deal, and you bring up the point, well; so, at least with one of us, your rant didn't fall on deaf ears.

cranston, good off topic rant. You're right on. When looking for the deals the best advice is to keep your mouth shut and act stupid. Believe me, after all the idiots these salespeople see day in and day out they won't be surprised. All it takes is a couple of people giving away the good deals and they're won't be any left for the rest of us.

By the way, I called a 3 local Abq, NM Staples and none have the 16x Yamaha's. From the way one of the salespersons acted he'd been called several times already today. Have to wait for the next "can't miss" deal.

Don't worry since the Yamaha 20x came out, staples is blowing away the 16x at the fix price of $87.50. Who knows maybe next week they have it even cheaper if still around.

Good Luck.

Review from the techzone....a highlight

<< While the Plextor makes use of Sanyo's Burn Proof Technology, Yamaha uses their own "Waste-Proof Write Strategy". This exclusive write strategy maximizes stability of the recording environment by combining a large buffer memory (8 Megs in this case), CAV writing support for on-the-fly data backup, and specific fine-tunings to the recording software, resulting in elimination of buffer underruns and waste of media. That's the theory. In real life, Waste-Proof is no match for Burn Proof as the Yamaha drive produced its fair share of coasters. >>

Edit: Oh yeah, here's the LINK.
Just do a search on Google.com for "CRW2100EZ review" find tons of reviews and opinions.

Heya...What's with the hashing on Zwingle? Zwingle's come up with some wonderful deals and Oh by the way, I have no idea who your sorry AMDwhatever you are...in fact, given that you come on here and climb on member's backs and have a vocubulary to match, you're probably a neffer...you know, neffin...you know, it's a way of describin' your bitchy comments so you can get your member label up to ummm...some metal description... if you wanna be a neffer...that's fine...

just flame on yourself...you know...post and call yourself an asshole...you get as much recognition.

If you can't help yourself to find the answers, maybe you don't deserve the deal AMD. The links to the coupons and any other needed for this deal have been posted in this thread. Read through them and you can find the answers you seek. I am not being rude, but look at all the stupid questions in the thread that could have been answered if people would read through the posts.

OT: Someone said this burner is noisy.....it is when you are ripping a cd. Reminds me of the older cd roms that sound like a jet engine ramping up to take off. But burning is quieter than my Sony 10x.

Zingle....you are 100% true.

When ripping or using the rom as a reader the thing is like a tornando just hit. When burning its so quiet you can't hear a thing.

Hm... interesting because all my burner are quiet when they burn. I am pretty sure they are not supposed to make any noise when they burn, not??? I mean the laser burning itself doesnot produce any sound (not to human) so we only down to the spinning of the disk. At 20x , I barely hear anything. I have cheap older cdroms (2X - 24X), they do produce some sound but hardly noticeable. My point is at 20-24X, even regular cdrom shouldnot make a loud noise. Yes, No?

Just curious...

Last night, I told my bro to burn a CD with the Yamaha 16x burner before he headed to work this morning. Five minutes after he left home, the noisy burner just woke me up while it was ripping.

Oh, yeah~ I have another alarm clock!
