This sounds like something to fight about with your girlfriend. Just know that ATOT has your back! Go get 'em!
I don't blame you for being aggravated. I would be too...
At the same time, you GF has a good point. There probably isn't much you can do now...
Best of luck,
Uno

I can't do much about the AC -- it's in. However But there is something I can do - I can request that I be notified 24 hours ahead of time whenever they are entering my apartment to install something, do maintenance, etc. If they did this, I wouldn't have started this thread in the first place. God damn I am so pissed off over this....
Look in your lease and check local laws, iirc 24 hour notice must be given, ie you shouldn't have to request it. But... it might be a state by state thing and IANAL so read up on it and if it is 24 hours, make it known that this will be abided by or you will take further action.

i can't stand when people touch my things. especially my computer.
It seems like your girlfriend allowed them in and gave them permission to install the A/C. If so, I don't understand what you can do with your landlord.
"All of a sudden I heard noise out in the living room and I freaked the fuck out."
^^ True - if the gf let them in, there is nothing really in the OP's defense, since at that point it would lie squarly on the shoulders of said gf.

To be clear...This wasn't the case -- they let themselves in while she was still sleeping. She heard the footsteps and had no idea who was in the apartment. She then texted me at work.
