What "serious flaws" are in Vista?

1. It's upgradeable.
2. It's so powerful right now, that it will last several years.
3. It can do anything you throw at it, and will for years.
4. It can run both OSX and XP (or Vista if you're daring).
5. You won't be asking for a new computer for years.
6. It retains a higher resale value in case selling it ever became necessary.
7. It's extremely less likely to contract a virus or other malicious issue.
8. Apple Care warranty is outstanding.
9. It will speed up your production, as you can run multiple programs simultaneously without a hitch.
10. Adobe plays nice with cross grade software upgrades.
11. You will enjoy your job more, and happy workers are better workers.
12. It's not more expensive than an equivalent, (necessary?) PC upgrade.
13. You're already familiar with the OS, and require no time to learn it, unlike what you may face with Vista, which comes installed on the vast majority of new PC's.
14. You already belong to a large community of MP users, many of which work in the same field, who are always willing to offer exceptional advice regarding any issues you may encounter with the MP in a timely manner.
15. It's just a flippin' awesome, beautiful machine.

It seems as if you've confused 'flaws in VISTA' with 'attributes of OSX'.
Please re-calibrate and re-submit.
Reading comprehension takes it up the ass again.

Well not a single one of them is a Vista flaw, but I deduce you are espousing OSX's virtues and implying none of these apply to Vista. Aight, I'll bite.
1. So is Vista (this one has me really confused)
2. So is Vista (WTF?). In fact MS OS's have a much greater track record for longevity. Just last week MS stopped issuing licenses for Windows 3.x (not kidding).
3. Most games will not run on OSX
4. Huh? Are we talking about hardware or software? OSX doen't "run" XP, unless you're talking about virtualization, in which case the credit goes to companies like VMWare.
5. Que?
6. Que?
7. I'll give you this, even though it comes down to stupid users 99.9999% of the time.
8. Not from the horror stories I've heard, but granted they're almost certainly better than Dell/HP/ASUS etc.
9. Multitasking? Pretty sure I've been doing it since Windows 3.1
10. This pertains to OSX how?
11. Que?
12. Yes it is. Blatant lie FTL.
13. Errr.... no I'm not. Not sure what your point is here
14. Wait a minute.... what the hell are we talking about here? What's MP? Did I just write this list for nothing? I'm seriously confused, but I think it's fair to say the PC/Windows community is pretty damn big.
15. It's a piece of consumer electronics, who gives a shit?

i'd also like to address these points:

1. so is OSX. in fact, why are there 30 versions of OSX, each named after a member of the cat family, that are really just service pack upgrades (which windows users get for free)?
2. vista will be run for years to come, just like XP. hell, windows 3.X still powers some things.
3. vista will do more than OSX. like games. and video. and audio. and business apps.
4. i believe there are OSX emulators.. but more to the point, the only reason why i can't run OSX (well, i can go hackintosh) is because OSX mysteriously requires an EFI mobo.
5. the only reason i'd ask for a new computer is so i could play games faster. but OSX doesn't have many games available, now does it?
6. resale values are offset by initial purchase price. and just like any luxury car, only the super rare editions hold value.
7. security through obscurity is not a good way to go. viruses on windows are solely due to the inherently larger userbase.
8. i guess? my rig is reliable and rarely has had hardware issues.
9. i can multitask just fine on my E4300/2gigs DDR667/Vista ultimate
10. don't use acrobat - problem solved.
11. please explain how OSX will make workers happier.
12. yes, yes it is. by a lot.
13. the basic interfaces of OSX and windows (vista or XP) are *identical*. for basic use, there should be NO problems moving from one to the other.
14. 90% marketshare > 10% marketshare
15. if you want to pay a large premium for aesthetics, be my guest.

Most iPod commercials feature guys with long hair, chicks roller skating, and guys wearing fedoras. I have dandruff, and I buy most of my jeans from a grocery store.

I'm pretty sure he just copied it from an Apple ad somewhere as it appears verbatum in

this MacRumors thread dated 2/21/08. So instead of actually trying to make valid points, he copied an advertisement from the net. More proof of his idiocy needed? I think not.

MS's new advertising campaign .. Macs are for teh HOMOS!!!

1) Macintosh is made by Apple and is also a type of apple
2) apples are a type of fruit
3) fruit is a slang for gay people

besides, gay people plaster apple stickers all over their cars

Hiromizu, I am so sorry for you if you actually believe what you type. I've rebutted every one of those points to my mac fanboy friends (with proof) and they still cling to their white apple logo. I don't know what it is - I guess they feel like Steve Jobs will keep them safe.

I told my grandma to get an apple after she kept having spyware/virus/other problems. 1 month later I was over at her house again cleaning all the crap out of her "impenetrable" apple computer.

I believe you can run Leopard as long as your processor supports SSE3; however, this is not through conventional methods!!! I just wouldn't waste my time on it.

Ms does not need to sway people, MAC still does...since 5% or however many people use MACs when 95% are windows.

it sells itself in a way....

oh, cant forget the 1% or less on linux
