So you think there should be an equal amount of police in my white neighborhood with no obvious criminal presence, as there is in a black neighborhood with obvious gang and drug related crime?

I can go for a drive RIGHT NOW to a black neighborhood, and find any and all the drugs for sale that I could ever want. But I cannot do that in any of the white neighborhood's here. But maybe it's just a coincidence...

I tried to ignore classy, not his facts. I did not debate the NJ incidents with him. You may want to review the thread. In this thread, I have stated that I agree racism is a problem, but I disagree it is the main problem and the cause of most of the ills within the black community.

no.. but they should not IGNORE the drugs in the white communities.. and they do this.. they put more DRUG enforcemnt money into lower income areas.. if it's so obvious there sould be LESS resources needed.. and in places where drugs are less obvious MORE resources should be used to crack down in those areas...

This is another double standard. If police tone down their presence in black or poor communities, cries of racism and class favoritism spring up as activists claim they are not properly protected. Then if the police step up their presence in these communities, cries of racism spring up and activists claim the police are targeting minorities and the poor.

They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

The fact of the matter is, I am against the war on drugs altogether. So arguing drug policy with me will only have me agreeing with you.

But another matter is quite alarming. And that is the fact that over 50% of the homicides are committed by black men. The vast majority of those against other blacks. SOMETHING needs to be done.
