YABST: Young's Double Chocolate Stout

Had one of these last night at a bar, and I don't think I've ever had a better beer. The aftertaste was really something. $6 a bottle is pretty steep, but I may be treating myself to one of these a little more often.

Anyone else a fan of this stuff?

yeah that was my favorite beer for a long time. i get it for about $2 a bottle though.

i think he means for the 22 oz or 2pint? not sure of the size of the bottle. it ws also at a bar.

Yeah, that stuff is amazing. It's so creamy, it's delicious. Not much more to say than that.

Even @ $5/pint it's worth every penny.

To answer the questions...

It has chocolate malt and some amount of dark chocolate flavoring in it. You can taste it.

It was the large bottle, not your average light beer bottle. Not sure the exact size. Well over a pint.

This isn't a beer you drink to sit and get drunk, this is a definite one to enjoy. I don't drink to get ripped, I drink stuff I like. This bar is the only place in town you can get this stuff, unless you buy a whole case at the one distributor. Like I said, $6 was steep, but I enjoyed the beer. FWIW< I wouldn't drink icehouse if you paid me $6.

Never seen that beer before.. I bought a Shakespeare Stout the other day and that was the best stout I've had yet. $4 for a 22 oz though

great beer. the hint of chocolate really adds to the flavor.

currently i'm hooked on chimay (blue label) and affligem (if i can ever find it)

pretty good stuff - I got a 4 pack for $10 shortly after I turned 21.

I like the oatmeal stout better though, not quite as much of the "hmmm. odd." effect

if you really like "tasty" (i.e. sweet) stouts, dogfish head worldwide stout might be your ultimate. everybody I've ever known who's tried it loves it, but its too sweet for me.

Sam Smith's Oatmeal stout is quite good.

The problem is, a lot of these beers are incredibly hard to find around here.
