Last night on the way home from work I noticed my transmission slipping at highway speeds. When I was off the highway I would accelerate quickly to see when it was slipping. Once it got above 2500 rpm and get ready to shift, it would slip, rpms would go up to about 4000 and then it would shift. It did this on each shift. It would never slip under light load. This morning, no trouble on the highway or heavy load shifting. Thoughts?

what kind of car, how many miles, do you beat it, do you stop whjen going from park to drive, is your fluid burnt, is your fluid full?

i would try a flush and fill, then get a bottle of lucas tranny additive. it might do some good for it.

Just as an FYI, if you have the 4.7 you have a 45RFE if you have the 5.9 you have the 46RE transmission.

I would have it checked by a transmission shop and have them drop the pan. A tranny flush might do your transmission worse than anything right now.

The flush uses very high detergent levels and they may strip the transmission of the very metals that are holding it toghether.

4.7l engine. I had the fluid changed at 60k. It's still covered under the extended warranty so I'm taking it to the dealer Thursday.
