So did you haggle any or did you already make your mind up that you were going to pay full price?

Honestly, I did not haggle. I was prepared to, but after meeting the guy and hearing about all the money/time he put into the car, I was not prepared to go any lower then the price he suggested. I think it's not only the car I'm paying for, it's the experience. Owning a beautiful car which is 40 years old, and the looks and comments you probably get are worth it to me. But overall, it is a car I see myself driving and appreciating. I am paying for the car myself, and it has centimental value. I'm about to watch the restoration video he gave me, so i'll report back when I'm done.

Thanks for all the feedback.

*shakes head* EVEN when its something you want, you should still try to get a better price. Thats like saying "I know I could have had it cheaper but I was too lazy to try because I liked the car too much"

As I said before, not being a GT car and non matching numbers it kills some of the value. When you want to work on it, at least make it a GT clone with the emblems so you can find someone else who will pay top money.

Sorry to ressurect a somewhat old thread, but I'm in the Mustang buying mood again, and have found yet another 68'.

Any of you who have seen my more recent motorcycle threads are probably like, "WTF is this kid doing?". Well, my parents gave me an ultimatum, Mustang or motorcycle. Being the proud(LOL) owner of a 90' miata, I chose the Mustang. BTW, I am paying for this myself.

So here's the info on the mustang. 1968 newly rebuilt('97) mustang coupe.

Restored in 1997 289 with with large cam, 650 Holley, MSD ignition,2.5" magnaflow exhaust.c-4 trans. with shift kit. Great American muscle car.

Maybe I am blind, but I don't see a clutch pedal. Here are some pics.
um, a C4 is a 3 speed automatic.

COngrats!

I owned a beautiful Plymouth Duster for a while. Even though it had a slant 6 with a 3 speed automatic, it was still a blast to drive, and turned heads like crazy. You will enjoy this Mustang!

good job! I can't imagine a classic mustang being an automatic though.....if your'e only 16 are you going to get a little bit more experience under your belt before taking that thing on the road? It'd be a shame to tear up something that beautiful

If you are happy with what you are paying for it, that is all that matters.

Enjoy!!
