I'm seriously looking to get one, just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with them, good or bad.

If you have one for sale, I'd be interested in that too.

How big are you? Those things are tiny. I'd definitely see if you could find one to test drive.

I have a 96 miata and I love it. How much are you looking to spend on one? I paid about 4 grand for mine a couple of years ago. I haven't had to do too much maintenance on it since then(basic upkeep). I've put about 25k on it.

Ive been planning on getting one too. I have a motorcycle, but I need something for winter when its cold. Thought I might as well get something fun to drive.

Just hope I can pull together enough by then.

I have a 92 Miata that is parked down in Atlanta at my dad's. It has around 70K miles on it. It's a simple, reliable car, easy to work on if it happens to break. Parts are readily available and not too expensive. It may not have tons of power but it's a complete joy to drive. Puts a smile on my face every time. It also turns heads. Don't listen to anyone who tells you it's a girly car. These people are simply not secure in their own sexuality. Besides, I bet more hotties look at me in my Miata than dude driving a Nissan 350Z or something of that nature.

my friend have a mazdaspeed miata, and my brother has 200X miata. they both love their cars. they've both owned them for a couple years and never heard them mention their cars needing repairs.

for me, i think they are too small, i am not a big guy, 5'7 165lbs and i feel cramped in them.

You are supposed to feel cramped in them. Minimalism and low weight are key ingredients of that car.

Love my 94 turbo miata. Only had it since November so I can't say a lot about their reliability yet. http://www.miata.net/ that place should answer most of your questions. A whole lot of them make lifter noise when you first start them including mine but its no big deal as long as it goes away.

I fit fine but i am 5'9". 6' should fit, though. There are a couple of mods to do to make you fit better.

I have a 1999 that is supercharged.

I have an '01 Miata, that I keep purely for sunny days.
As impractical as it is, especially up here in Canada, it is a tremendously fun car.

If this is going to be your only car, and you're in the snowbelt, this might not be the car for you.
As a second or third vehicle / toy, it makes great sense.

I don't know if they would really be that bad in the snow as long as it wasn't deep enough to turn the car into more of a sled. The last owner of mine used it all year in Ohio and I got caught out in mine once at work when it snowed and it did surprisingly well even with my summer only tires on it. 50/50 weight distribution and a LSD help a bit. I think you would have more problems with shoulder room if you're a fatty then if you are tall. You can modify thing to get a bit more headroom but there isn't much you can do about the shoulder room.

Mine is useless in rain and cold weather. If I mixed them it would be chaos, adding snow or ice would be scary.

My '94 has treated me well. I got mine with a matching hardtop, which is great for unpleasant weather (winter, rain, etc.). Definitely check out Miata.net's garage section for things to inspect before you buy a used one. Although this is my second car, I found it to be a great daily driver and great when I only have to carry one other person and not much luggage. BTW I'm 5'10" and don't have any problems fitting with the seat almost all the way back.

profile of my '94 with hardtop
SCCA approved rollbar

good luck with the purchase!

Mine is fine in the rain. You just need better wheels and tires. Those skinny things that the car come with are worthless.

I run Toyo Proxes RA-1s. Pretty close to full on track shoes.
