YACT: Car Insurance in NY

Well I just recently turned 25 and plan on shopping around for car insurance to get a better rate. So I was wondering if anyone knew of some good companies that offer good rates and hopefully good service in New York (live on Long Island).

Currently have Metropolitan Group (MetLife) since I got a slight discount thru work for them.
A while ago I found out I was able to get insurance thru United Services Auto Association (USAA) thru my stepdad.

Any other good companies?

EDIT: Oh yeah, it would be nice if they offer renters insurance too.

Both Progressive and GEICO offer decent car insurance in the New York metro area. By decent, I mean less of a rip off than Allstate, Erie, or State Farm would charge.

A lot depends on the specific car. MetLife (through work) wanted $1.5K more a year for insurance on my car than most other companies. State Farm was the cheapest.

With my current car, USAA was cheapest with State Farm not far behind.

I have had GEICO forever, and I am very happy with their rates and their service.
Their Regional Service Center is right near you, in Woodbury, if you need pictures or damage estimates.

(I'm also on LI , near Babylon)

geico here - Forest Hills, Queens. they gave the cheapest quote and I've stayed with them for the past 3.5 years. and i call to shop around annually.
