So the time has come to purchase a new car. I'm making really decent money now, so I think its
time to treat myself. I've already done the new computer stuff... 19" LCD, DVD Burners, etc... so now
its time to buy myself a new car. I want opinions. I want to know what you guys think a 21 year old
should buy. It has to be something sporty, quick, and good looking. So far I have selected the following

SO FAR:

1st - 2005 Dodge SRT-4
2nd - ? Porsche Boxster S
3rd - Mazda RX-8

Not sure what else there is out there. I dont want a mustang or anything unless I get a brand new Cobra,
and I just cant see myself paying the insurance for that even though I could afford it.

So, let me know what you guys think.

There have not been enough threads about this. I'm absolutely thrilled that you made another.

Anyway
I want to know what you guys think a 21 year old

how much do you have in savings? That's what I thought. Keep the car you have now for longer until you have better savings.

Get the RX-8. Although you could get a Vette. Bout same price range as a cobra, and the Vettes insurance is cheaper in my area because of the few ammount of them on the road as compared to mustangs.

If I were to buy today, I could put down ~ $20,000 on a new car.

I dont mind making payments, but yeah... if I go the route of the SRT-4, I wont purchase until this time 2005. I'm not going to drive a car like that in the winter.

Go buy a $500 car and call up Xzibit and tell him to Pimp My Ride B|tch. Then you will have a car worth $20,500.

Price doesnt really matter. It does, but it doesnt.

I'm going to buy a car that I'm going to keep. If it turns out I like the Porsche, I'll buy it. If it turns out that
I like a 1992 5.0 Mustang more, then I'll spend $5000 on that and that will be that.

with my current job, I can pretty much get the car I want within a year.

My main problem : Insurance.

I wont pay $600/month for a car even if I can afford it. I'm just not going to do it. heh

I have the exact same problem. I see a Modena driving down the street. I'm like damn! But, after the test drive, it just doesnt' do it for me. Money is NOT an issue for me. I can afford any street-legal car made within the last decade. But, the thing is, when I pick my car I want to keep it for a long time, and nothing really suits me, so I continue to drive what I drive until that WOW-car comes along.

why not an Mitsubishi Evo8 or a subaru STi?

but of those three, i'd prefer a new RX-8 over the SRT or a used Boxter.

I didn't know I was being a prick I was just trying to show you that we both have the same problem. For me money is NOT an issue. The job I Have now...damn. So much money coming in. I know I'm young, but I literally have to pay a dumpster every week to cart it back to my vault (all 1000 dollar bills).

Infinity does have some nice cars. G35 coupe, etc... but I really dont need all of the toys
like the GPS, heated leather seats, etc. I just want something fun to drive before I get married
and have to buy an FX-45 or something similar. haha
