There you go. I doubt you would have even gotten a salemen's attention at a Kia dealership.

But in all truth, when you come with a friend, especially more than one friend, that is almost a sure sign that you're window shopping.

No one brings their gawking friends when buying a car, especially a nice one.

My friend brought his "mechanical engineer" friend (me), and he got a lot of attention because I was geeking the sh¡t out of them. (I was frequently correcting them or filling in missing details.) It was fun.

70-something posts and no one's mentioned economics of scale? Look it up (or take econ 101).

Rich people that can afford to buy expensive fast toys will. If you were rich then it wouldnt matter. Theres no need to justify anything.

and you could build a 1200+ HP Corvette for 1/3rd the price and flat our rule that Bugatti POS on any racetrack or street..

they are an ultimate waste of cash..
there is nothing they can do that a regular sports car with some cash thrown at it cant do..

and dont give me style or comfort becasue every single exotic ive ever sat in has been ungodly uncomfortable and low on luxouries

Needs another 500HP.

HP means nothing, it's all about the torque.

WRONG. Gearing can make up the difference.

Let's take an example:

Motor 1 makes 100 ft-lb at 3200 rpm.
Motor 2 makes 300 ft-lb at 1000 rpm.

(These are low numbers, I know, but it's to make my point in very practical terms, such as those with economy cars.)

If you change the gearing so that the wheels are spinning at 4000 rpm in both motors, assuming no drivetrain losses, you're putting 80 ft-lb on the wheels with motor 1 spinning at 3200 rpm, yet motor 2 is putting 75 ft-lb on the wheels spinning at 1000 rpm. This is why people talk about HORSEPOWER. It takes into account that power at a higher rpm is more useable for making the car actually GO.

It's all about GEARING.
Rule of thumb is:
Torque GETS you going,
Horsepower KEEPS you going.

What "exotics" have you sat in? What year models were they?

And why should we trust someone who doesn't know how to spell "luxuries?"

I went to a dealer and they didn't even acknowledge my presence. Too bad for them, I would've purchased 10 Ferraris.

How old are you? That is most likely reason. It seams every other person on AT is still in school.

And why should we trust someone who doesn't know how to spell "seems?"

Diablo VT
Ferrari F50
Jag XJ220
Viper GTS

all were very uncomfortable for my height
Ill stick with my Stangs and Vettes.. about the same comfort levels and can be faster for much cheaper.

I don't think those could be put on same level of a normal Ferrari or a Corvette. Those are special supercars, except for the Viper. They were not intended to be luxurious.

The mainstream Ferraris and other exotics are made luxuriously and have a lot of technology.

I was just doing some reading, and....

The LS7 has a dry sump oil system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111

(If you have no idea how good that is, I don't know exactly to explain the ownage except like this: no wasted energy sloshing oil in the crankcase, and lower center of gravity due to no oil pan under the motor!)

(They stole my idea! :wink; )
