Now, if you're talking about the fiberglass fakes, it's possible. And one of the lesser "re-issue" fiberglass Shelby models might fall into his brice range too.

Hey, thought of something. A Panoz Esperante. New, about your range, V8 goodness, and unique.

  • It's just an old American rattle-trap, WTF?
(BTW, there's GOT to be a HUGE premium for that coupe version)

Lots of good suggestions here and I will repost them The C6 Vette isn't a bad idea. Based on your post, a M5 might be good. I like the Elise idea, but it takes a special breed to handle a car built like a real race car (no comforts, thin everything).

Also, Acura TL (available with M6 but most listed will spank it), Subaru WRX STi, M3, and a used Porsche. A used NSX would probably be the most maintenance free fast car in your range. It will eat tires, but so will a Porsche.

Ferrari is out of the question. This car has to be cheap on the maintenance and reliable.

I agree, the 645 coupe is gorgeous. An Elise would also be a great choice.

An elise as a daily driver?

You know what, I don't like your attitude. You start a pretty general, kinda fun thread. Then a few people make suggestions, and you go back and edit the OP to restrict the hell out of the choices. So yeah, an Elise as a daily driver you dumb son of a bitch. Maybe the rough ride will eventually disolodge my foot from your ass. At such time, you can drive the Elise straight to hell, motherfvcker.

M3 or M5...hold their value well.

If you don't mind spending money on it, how about a nice 993? They have held their value well, if you keep it nice I don't see why the price will drop any quicker than they have been, and damn that car's got some character. Yellow turbo for me please. Or...DROOOOOOL how about a slantnose? 930 I think they're called, wow hot and sexy.

Hey, I'm sorry, after the first couple posts I realized that my OP was WAY too vague. I restricted it to answers I was interested in. I didnt expect people to suggest cars that were unrealistic such as an AC Cobra or Elise. I appreciated the effort in trying to think of something I hadnt, but I needed to let the readers of this thread know I'd be driving this car on roads, not tracks.

As much as I hate to say it, the 993 Turbo is a good choice.

993's seem to be holding their value a bit better than 996 models. And turbo, just because you can at that price range.

Id go with an M3.

My concern here is that value in the old styling will drop a bit much once they apply the new 3 styling to the M version...

'Vette is the only way to go in that price range.

Quite livable as a daily driver, fast as hell, looks good...

And you won't have to spend anywhere near $70K to get one.

See, the problem is you didn't put that anywhere in your OP. You said "What unmodded used car would YOU buy." Me, I'd buy a an M5 or an NSX, or an Elise. That's what I WOULD BUY.

So you mistitled your thread, didn't get your point across, and then rolled your eyes at ME.

Here, get this car. I'll sit in that seat, and you can blow me.

Man I already apologized for the vagueness and editted my post. How about a truce. I didnt mean to offend anyone by any post I made in this thread.

TRUCE?:music::beer::music:

EDIT: Oh and my father actually wants to get a Maybach haha. But I'll pass on the BJ if he does get it
