I purchased a lens, on E-Bay on Friday the 22 of September. I paid for the item, insurance and shipping immediately after I won the item with Paypal.
The seller contacted me the following Monday evening and said he shipped the item on that day. So far so good. 6 days later, on Saturday the 30 of September, I received an email from him saying that the item had been returned to him by the US postal system with an insufficient postage notice.
Has anybody had similar problems shipping small packages to Canada via the US postal system?
As of now he has yet to mail it again because he is dealing with some other issues right now and will mail it in a few days.
So here I am, 11 days after the auction ended and the seller has yet to mail my lens. I have been polite in my email exchanges with him so far but this transaction is starting to frustrate me. My next email won?t be so polite.
Anny suggestions as to the course of action I should take now?
Edit: corrected acronym in title.
UPDATE Oct 5
I received an email from the seller this morning stating that the packaged was shipped VIA the US postal system on the 4 of Oct, yesterday. He gave me a tracking number which I verified to be genuine. 4 to 7 days delivery time expected. I should receive my lens by the 11 of Oct at the latest.
I will post pictures taken with the new lens when I get it.
Update 13 Oct
My package arrived in Canada last Friday but never got delivered to me. Here is the info I got from USPS:
Service Type: International Parcels
Shipment Activity Location Date & Time
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arrived Abroad CANADA 10/06/06 7:50am
International Dispatch SEATTLE AMC 10/05/06 6:24pm
Acceptance LYNDEN WA 98264 10/04/06 4:22pm
Today, I emailed the seller to find out what was going on. He phoned me right back. Apparently the package got LOST by USPS and an inquirery will take 60 days.
I asked for a refund and I got it via paypall minutes after our conversation.
I don't think there was anny ill intent from the seller so I want to leave positive feedback.
Should I wait a few days before I leave feedback just in case?
